  • Delta currently offers more than 348 peak-day departures to 106 destinations worldwide.  
  • Delta offers nonstop service to 91 Domestic destinations and 15 international destinations, including Amsterdam, Paris, Rome, Munich, Frankfurt, Tokyo-Haneda, Seoul and Shanghai (DL is the only carrier in DTW with nonstop service to Asia). 
  • Delta’s service in Detroit dates from June 1, 1945 when Chicago and Southern Air Lines (C&S) and Northwest Airlines started flights at Detroit’s City Airport (DET), today’s Coleman A. Young International Airport. C&S merged with Delta in 1953, and Northwest in 2008. 

Connecting Detroit to the World

In May 2025, Delta began four-times-weekly service to Dublin. Additionally, Delta also increased its service to Munich to daily flights.

TSA PreCheck Touchless ID (formerly Digital ID)   

Delta has invested heavily in technologies to streamline and transform the airport journey.  TSA PreCheck® Touchless ID (“Touchless ID”), Delta’s time-saving, industry-first technology that allows customers to check bags and move through security without showing a physical government ID, debuted at DTW in 2021. Touchless ID is available to eligible customers in both the domestic and international terminals.

PARALLEL REALITY

DTW is the exclusive hub for customers to experience the mind-bending PARALLEL REALITY technology. First displayed at CES 2020, this technology allows up to 100 customers to each see personalized flight information tailored to their unique trip on a single, shared digital screen — at the same time.

Delta Sky Club 

The Motor City is home to five Sky Clubs that provide customers with thoughtful amenities like an assortment of meal offerings, premium beverage selections and intentionally crafted lounge space. 

The airport's most recently opened Delta Sky Club, which opened in December 2021, is a 4,600-square-foot space near gate A43 that seats up to 100 guests and overlooks the concourse and the existing main Club. 

Advancing Sustainable Travel at DTW

  • In 2024, for the first time in Michigan’s aviation history, Delta facilitated the delivery of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), made from Minnesota and North Dakota-grown winter camelina as part of Delta’s work with the Minnesota SAF Hub coalition, to DTW airport for use on Delta flights.   • 15% of DTW’s core ground support equipment (GSE) has been electrified 
  • More than 20% of DTW departures are on next-generation fleet (A220, A321 Neo, A339), which are more fuel efficient 
  • DTW has established end-around taxiways for more efficient taxiing
