Delta is building on its largest-ever winter schedule to the South Pacific with the launch of a seasonal route from Los Angeles to Brisbane, Australia, that begins Dec. 4, 2024. Flights to the capital city of Queensland will operate three times per week through Mar. 28, 2025.

“With this addition of Brisbane, Delta’s upcoming winter schedule will offer our customers up to 17 weekly flights between the U.S. and Australia,” said Joe Esposito, Delta’s Senior Vice President of Network Planning. “This marks our most extensive schedule to the South Pacific to date, and as we build our presence in the region, we know our customers will enjoy the enhanced experience consistently provided by Delta.”

Delta will serve two cities in Australia, including Sydney, giving customers ample opportunities to immerse themselves in the charm of Down Under. In Brisbane, Australia’s third-largest city, travelers can indulge in top-tier art galleries, scenic cycling trails, vibrant food markets, and visit the world’s largest koala sanctuary. The city’s proximity allows easy access to the Gold Coast, Noosa, or the option to venture north to relish the wonders of The Great Barrier Reef or westward for an immersive Outback experience.

Conversely, this route opens doors for more Australian travelers to indulge in the glamorous allure of Hollywood in Los Angeles or to take advantage of more than 40 convenient one-stop connections to popular U.S. cities. Whether it’s the scenic views in Seattle, vibrant nightlife in Miami, or iconic landmarks in New York City, there’s a wealth of experiences waiting to be explored.

Expanding to the South Pacific

Delta’s LAX-to-Brisbane route is the latest in a series of investments the airline – already the leading global carrier at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) – is making in the South Pacific region. In winter 2022, Delta introduced a second frequency from LAX to Sydney, and just recently enhanced those flights to daily, providing customers access to Sydney via 14 flights per week.

The airline also launched daily service from LAX to Auckland, New Zealand, in October 2023 and three-times-weekly flights to Tahiti in December 2022.

An elevated journey that begins on the ground

Delta’s state-of-the-art Sky Way at LAX welcomes travelers from arrival to departure. Terminal 3, a 1.2-million-square-foot, 27-gate complex, redefines travel convenience with a centralized check-in lobby, expanded security checkpoint, and an award-winning Delta Sky Club, recognized as North America’s Best Airline Lounge by Business Traveler USA in 2023.

Delta One customers are invited to make use of an exclusive check-in area, which provides a private TSA screening lane and direct access to the Delta Sky Club. Eligible customers can also take advantage of Delta Digital ID at LAX, providing hands-free bag check and security for TSA PreCheck members opting in via the Fly Delta app.

Delta will further redefine the West Coast travel experience when it opens a premium lounge at LAX later this year.

Delta’s new premium lounge experience will launch in JFK, LAX and BOS. In addition, Delta Sky Club will debut in Charlotte, add a second Club in Seattle, and expand the existing Miami and LGA Clubs.

A premium experience in the air

This route will operate on the Airbus A350-900 with four product experiences: Delta One Suites, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort+ and Main Cabin.

Delta One customers experience increased privacy and the luxury of a fully reclining seat, accompanied by plush bedding crafted from recycled materials, artisan-made amenity kits, chef-curated meals, and additional comforts. Meanwhile, Delta Premium Select passengers enjoy a wider seat with a deeper recline and an adjustable footrest and leg rest, an enhanced dining experience, and various other thoughtful amenities.

Customers can also anticipate a recently refreshed food and beverage program featuring carefully curated menu selections, including specialty snacks, as well as a premium array of beer, wine, and spirit choices. And all passengers can enjoy a wide selection of in-flight entertainment options, with complimentary access to 1,000+ hours of content on Delta Studio.
