For the seventh year in a row*, U.S. News & World Report has lauded the Delta SkyMiles program as a top performer in its annual ranking of airline loyalty programs.

Delta once again outperformed all other global airlines and claimed the No. 2 spot overall in the evaluation of 10 of the most prominent U.S. airlines.

This year, Delta has been honored with several new accolades from top publications and organizations, such as being named The Points Guy’s Best U.S. Airline for the fifth year in a row, Skytrax’s No. 1 airline with the best staff in North America, and WalletHub’s Best Airline of 2023

In years past, U.S. News has considered five components of flight travel in its ranking: airline quality ratings, ease of earning a free round-trip flight, network coverage, added benefits and flight volume.

This year, it added a sixth consideration — award flight availability. There are no blackout dates for Award Tickets on any Delta flight. And Members can even earn toward Medallion Status when they take their well-deserved Award Travel on Delta-operated flights.

Delta’s SkyMiles program has continued to innovate with recent changes and improvements, including:

  • Expanded self-service capabilities for applying the Medallion-favorite Global and Regional Upgrade Certificates.

  • Enhanced recognition for the most loyal customers by increasing in-person Million Miler recognition and debuting new Million Miler gifts.

  • Launching new partnerships with other beloved brands like Starbucks, so Members can earn miles on coffee purchases and Double Stars on Delta travel days.

Every day, Members can continue to take advantage of Delta SkyMiles favorites, such as miles that don’t expire; industry-leading Medallion Benefits such as Complimentary Upgrades to Delta Comfort+ and First Class on domestic flights; and allowing for unlimited mileage accrual on tickets for any Member.

*Due to the pandemic, U.S. News did not publish rankings in 2020.
