Delta climbed even higher among the world’s top 20 operators in terms of scheduled flights, ranking No. 6 among what OAG calls “mega airlines.” OAG also noted Delta’s low cancellation rate of just 0.01% of all flights, compared with the 0.69% industry average, in its report.
The Journal reported that Delta’s network completion factor ranked first among the nine U.S. carriers evaluated, and Delta Connection (No. 2 among regional competitors) contributed strongly to the airline’s performance throughout the year, with a 100% completion factor for 116 straight days.
For the second year in a row, Delta earned Cirium’s Platinum Award for global operational excellence.
