Delta wins historic 9th consecutive Business Travel News award
Corporate travel professionals have named Delta the No. 1 airline in the annual Business Travel News Airline Survey for a record ninth consecutive year, again sweeping all 11 categories.
Since the creation of the award, Delta is the only airline to have earned the top spot for nine years in a row. We earned our highest marks for quality of client communications; value of relationships with account managers and sales reps; and quality of customer service.
"Delta's historic ninth consecutive Business Travel News award is thanks to the 80,000 men and women of Delta, who go the extra mile every day for our customers," said Steve Sear, President — International and Executive Vice President — Global Sales. "We are honored and grateful to every one of our customers for choosing to fly with us, and we will keep working hard to earn your trust and your business."BTN voters are travel professionals who are responsible for managing travel spend and policy development on behalf of corporations across the U.S. The survey asks voters to rate U.S. carriers based on their perceptions of airline performance in negotiating and maintaining preferred programs, delivering service and providing value.
"It speaks volumes that Delta's best scores are consistently in those categories that come down to the quality, professionalism and caring shown by our people," said Bob Somers, Senior Vice President - Global Sales. "Our people are truly the Delta Difference. It's an honor to work with such a talented team on behalf of our customers."Delta has taken numerous steps in 2019 to evolve the travel experience for corporate customers and their travelers, including launching Corporate Priority with more carriers; expanding TSA pre-check across most partner airlines; and launching check-in availability through the Fly Delta app for our trans-Atlantic partners. Additionally, this year Delta launched an industry-first chat function for travel agents, enhanced our corporate meetings product, and collaborated with customers to transform the distribution experience. The carrier also debuted an industry-leading, reinvented international main cabin experience.
"We work hard every year to listen to our customers' feedback and act on it, redefining the travel experience based on what they tell us," said Kristen Shovlin, Vice President -- Sales Operations and Development. "We're grateful and thankful to earn this award, and we're inspired to keep improving and delivering for our customers."Also in 2019, Delta was named the Most Admired Airline and Overall Most Admired Supplier in The Beat Readers' Choice Awards for the eighth consecutive year. The carrier also received the gold award for Overall U.S. Carrier at this year's Travel Weekly Magellan Awards.
