Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport

Information about Delta's presence at its MSP hub

Hub Snapshot

  • Airport Code: MSP
  • Delta serves as MSP’s largest global carrier, operating over 330 peak-day departures to 124 destinations across the globe.
  • Delta is currently the only carrier at MSP to provide nonstop service to Asia.
  • Delta’s MSP service dates from the inaugural flight of Northwest Airways (later Northwest Airlines) on Oct. 1, 1926 (mail service); passenger service began June 5, 1927. Delta flights at MSP began June 1, 1984. Northwest merged with Delta in 2008.

Customer Experience/Facilities

In 2023, renovations to gates G18-G22 included relocated and enlarged restrooms, expanded gate seating areas and new concessions. These upgrades were precursors to larger airside renovations happening throughout the airport.

Slated for completion by the end of 2025, future renovations will update the terminal with new terrazzo flooring; refreshed ceilings and lighting fixtures; upgraded digital signage; and more. Refurbished, spacious gate areas will mirror gate improvements at other Delta terminals in LAX, LGA, ORD and SLC.

Delta Sky Club

MSP is home to three Delta Sky Clubs that provide customers with thoughtful amenities like an assortment of meal offerings, premium beverage selections and intentionally crafted lounge space.

Delta's third Sky Club at MSP is by far the largest at Delta's Minneapolis hub, with seating for more than 450 and a first-of-its-kind Sky Deck. Inspired by Minnesota’s designation as the “land of 10,000 lakes,” the MSP-G Club’s design concept features a rich color palette evoking summer sunsets at the lake – earth tones like sage greens paired with warm copper and amber hues. Additional features include:

  • Three kiosks for quick and easy self-check-in
  • A full buffet
  • Two premium bars
  • Three soundproof booths for quiet work.

Advancing Sustainable Travel at MSP

  •  More than 50% of MSP core ground support equipment (GSE) has been electrified
  • Nearly 25% of MSP departures are on next-generation fleet (A220, A321 Neo, A350), which are more fuel efficient
  • MSP has established procedures in place for efficient deicing
  • Recycling, composting, water refill and food donations available at the terminal
  • Delta is a founding member of Minnesota SAF Hub and has worked to successfully deliver first batch of SAF to MSP airport in 2024 from Winter Camelina as part of MN SAF Hub work
