The latest lineup bolsters Delta’s nonstop connections from its Atlanta hub to cities in the U.S. West. The airline will also launch a new Dallas-Seattle route and resume some additional flying from Salt Lake City and Detroit.

Delta is simplifying its SkyMiles Program, with Medallion Qualification Dollars serving as the only qualifier for Medallion Status. Here are several things you should remember about the program and what changes for you.

Delta’s award-winning SkyMiles Program will use MQDs as the single qualifier toward Medallion Status and offer new and enhanced ways to earn Status – both on the ground and in the air. The airline will also make changes to Delta Sky Club access for some American Express Card Members.

Launching on Oct. 28, 2023, this route is the first time Delta has offered a service between Haneda and Honolulu after all Tokyo operations were moved from Narita Airport to Haneda in March 2020.

S&P Global Ratings, which evaluates and assigns ratings to companies based on how they measure financial results, upgraded Delta to a “BB+” rating, one step below an investment-grade rating.

Beginning October 29, the airline will operate daily flights from SEA and three-times-weekly service from DTW to Shanghai-Pudong International Airport (PVG).

Delta’s Propel program officially opened the Propel Flight Academy on Tuesday in Vero Beach, Florida. There, in partnership with Skyborne Aviation, aspiring pilots can enroll in a formal flight training program that from day one maps out a course to a job as a Delta pilot. Students can receive up to $20,000 in financial support.

Earlier this year, Wheels Up announced plans to scale and evolve its product offerings to deliver world-class private aviation service profitably. Funding provided by Delta, certain affiliates of Certares and Knighthead, and other partners is expected to provide the company the stability to execute on its strategic vision over the long term.

Delta has contributed $250,000 to the American Red Cross and immediately delivered supplies to Hawaii to support those affected by the wildfires in Maui. Going forward, employees and customers are asked to consider monetary contributions in lieu of material goods to help those impacted most.
