PRE-TRAVEL ESSENTIALS IN THE FLY DELTA APP

Traveling during a busy holiday season can feel daunting. Ensure you are taking time to prepare by tapping into the resources available to make your trip seamless from the start.

If you aren’t already one of the millions of customers who have downloaded the Fly Delta app in 2023, you should! Delta’s popular app for iOS and Android is the ultimate travel companion that provides many of the same tools and flexibility as our Reservations center. Start with the “Today” tab in the app for an at-a-glance view of your itinerary, check-in for your flight, view your upgrade status and more.

Join SkyMiles for free in the app to begin earning miles your upcoming travel and unlock curated experiences once you are onboard. Don’t forget to link your Starbucks account to earn miles on Starbucks purchases and double stars on eligible purchases at participating Starbucks stores on your day of travel.

Using the app on Android? Customers can now save and access their digital boarding pass with Google Wallet for easy access on the go.

Customers headed abroad for the holidays will find a faster, more responsive international check-in process in the app, too. Recent improvements to the experience make it easier to scan your passport with auto-focus and submit pre-trip documentation through the app, saving customers time and making it less likely you will need additional verification at the gate.

BREEZE THROUGH SECURITY AND RELAX AT DELTA SKY CLUBS

Eligible customers departing from a Delta Digital ID-enabled airport can now move through bag drop and security checkpoints without having to show a physical, government-issued ID (after the post-launch verification period). Now available at five hub airports, Delta Digital ID uses facial matching technology in place of agent-facilitated document checks, providing customers with a seamless, hands-free way to navigate the airport. This completely optional technology is available to SkyMiles members who also have a TSA PreCheck® membership, have their passport information and Known Traveler Number stored in their SkyMiles profile, and who use the Fly Delta app.

Digital ID, Delta’s time-saving, industry-first technology that allows customers to check bags and move through security without showing a physical government ID, is growing its presence with expansion to three major hubs.

Looking to relax and recharge pre-flight? Delta Sky Club customers can plan ahead by navigating to the “Delta Sky Club” section of the Fly Delta app. Clubs will display four occupancy levels ranging from “not busy” to “extremely busy,” helping customers better plan their visits.

IN-FLIGHT HOLIDAY HIGHLIGHTS AND SNACK DELIGHTS

Just in time for the holiday season, customers can snack on the famous Lotus Biscoff cookies in a delicious sandwich with vanilla cream filling. Lotus Biscoff Cookie Sandwich Cookies will be available for Delta Comfort+ and First Class customers on select flights in Delta’s PM snack basket. Pair it with coffee and oat milk creamer to get in the holiday mood.

While enjoying an in-flight snack and beverage, customers can sit back and relax watching Delta’s magical “Yule Log Around the World” under the Series section of their seatback screen. Delta’s take on this holiday classic, in partnership with Coca-Cola, is also available to enjoy on YouTube.

And the festive entertainment doesn’t stop there: Delta’s in-house curation team has hand-picked the best seasonal content to bring onboard this month. Customers can enjoy a collection of their favorite holiday movies, plus holiday-inspired mixtapes curated by Spotify, Delta’s exclusive audio partner. These festive entertainment options are available on seatback screens alongside more than 1,000 hours of free entertainment from Delta Studio. Plus, customers traveling onboard select Airbus A321 aircraft can look forward to enjoying their holiday content on an all-new seatback entertainment experience through Delta Sync.

If you are flying domestically this season, joining SkyMiles also ensures you can quickly connect to in-flight Wi-Fi during your flight—now available on more than 620 domestic mainline aircraft—an immediate new benefit of SkyMiles membership launched in 2023. In addition to fast and reliable onboard access to the internet, Delta Sync Wi-Fi lets customers sample exciting offers like free 24-hour streaming access pass to Paramount+, shop for last-minute essentials with Walmart+ and so much more.

This holiday travel season, SkyMiles Members have even more ways to enjoy their time on board and beyond. With Delta Sync Wi-Fi, customers can shop holiday sales with an exclusive Walmart+ promotion, play new games from New York Times Games, explore new destinations from Atlas Obscura and more.

SNOWED IN? HOW TO MAKE ADJUSTMENTS AS PLANS CHANGE

Keep notifications turned on in the app to ensure you have the latest updates at your fingertips. Find the notifications selection in your device's Settings app and ensure Fly Delta app notifications are turned on. Manage your device's sleep mode settings accordingly, too, to avoid notifications being silenced.

When a change of travel plans is required, customers can use an all-new flight change experience introduced earlier this year that makes it more convenient to adjust your flight on the go. Avoid airport lines or calling reservations for assistance by viewing the full list of options in the app.
