• Delta and Korean to acquire independent equity stakes totaling 25% in WestJet for US$550 million from Onex Partners and its affiliated funds and co-investors (the “Onex Group”)

The expansion will give customers access to a broader network of more than 200 destinations across the United States, Canada and Argentina, delivering enhanced travel options and a more consistent customer experience. 

Delta, Aeromexico, and Junior Achievement collaborated to provide students with practical experience and an authentic introduction to the aviation sector. Delta partners with over 30 Junior Achievement (JA) chapters across five continents to educate students on financial literacy and career preparedness.  

Two years after the start of their Joint Venture, Delta and the LATAM group review and report that since 2022, the partnership has allowed them to grow by 68% in flights, inaugurated 6 new routes, operated more than 32,000 flights, and transported more than 5 million passengers.

The codeshare agreement will enable greater connectivity between the United States and the Middle East. Delta customers will gain access to nine destinations in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East beyond Saudia’s hubs in Jeddah and Riyadh.

Delta and SAS (Scandinavian Airlines System), the flag carrier of Denmark, Norway, and Sweden, have signed a codeshare agreement effective Sept. 25, 2024. This agreement comes as SAS recently joined SkyTeam on Sept. 1.

The new benefits will be available on LATAM flights beginning this month, offering corporate travelers even more reasons to choose Delta and its partners for their travel needs. 

The agreement envisions a long-term relationship, subject to regulatory approvals, that includes interline and codeshare connectivity, as well as a deeper partnership encompassing loyalty, customer experience, digital transformation and broader aviation services such as maintenance, repair and overhaul services, ground handling and training.

The partnership has delivered an array of benefits to nearly 40M customers who have travelled across the Atlantic.

This new codeshare agreement will allow Delta to place its code on 20 airBaltic-operated routes to three of the Latvian carrier’s leading cities, including Riga, Tallinn and Vilnius.

Since Delta and Korean Air embarked on their joint venture partnership in May 2018, they have been committed to giving back to the communities they serve.

During the inaugural year of their Joint Venture, Delta and LATAM have streamlined travel and grown connections in their key hubs. The partners will continue to launch new routes and increase current routes.

Together, Delta and Korean Air have earned the trust of both Asian and American customers to become the No. 1 trans-Pacific joint venture.

The expansion includes Kenya Airways’ nonstop Nairobi to New York JFK service.

The airlines will implement a mutual codeshare and offer reciprocal frequent flyer benefits.

The partnership has improved customer experience, enhanced its combined network and benefited more than 7 million customers since launching in May 2018. Delta and Korean Air rapidly grew connecting passengers over ICN to 2,000 per day each way, an increase of more than 40% in five years despite the COVID-19 pandemic.
