Delta Air Lines has once again demonstrated its pioneering spirit and unwavering commitment to customers by earning a coveted spot on Fast Company’s list of the Most Innovative Companies for the fifth time in seven years. The annual recognition highlights organizations that are transforming industries and shaping society through innovation.

Delta took the no. 2 spot in the travel category, climbing from its no. 8 spot last year – a testament to the dedication of Delta people who make the airline the most awarded in the industry. Delta was recognized for its Wi-Fi revolution that is working to ensure the future of travel is connected.

The airline is carrying out an industry-leading commitment to bringing fast, free Wi-Fi presented by T-Mobile for all to its entire global fleet - connectivity at an unprecedented scale. Delta technicians and technology experts navigated the extremely complex in-flight connectivity challenges to seamlessly distribute satellite signals to customers on and as they move about the aircraft.

CONNECTIVITY AT AN UNPRECEDENTED SCALE

Delta knows that connection is transformative. It drives understanding, creates a shared sense of purpose, enhances our wellbeing and takes everyone to new heights. It’s at the heart of what Delta does, and it’s why the airline has been proud to lead the industry forward with its connectivity innovations.

Fast, free Wi-Fi presented by T-Mobile

At CES 2023, Delta took the stage and announced that fast, free Wi-Fi presented by T-Mobile would soon be available to all customers who log in via Delta SkyMiles®, regardless of their wireless provider.

This announcement marked a shift in aviation history: bringing fast, free and streaming-quality connectivity to the sky ensures customers can do more of what they want during travel on Delta, ushering in a new connected era of travel that fundamentally unlocks the experience on board.

The scale at which Delta is bringing streaming-quality connectivity to customers remains unmatched in the industry. More than 650 aircraft are in service today with fast, free Wi-Fi, and Delta teams are hard at work bringing the experience to its entire global fleet – more than 1,400 aircraft spanning all mainline and regional jets.

Delta Sync

Delta never stops looking for ways to make each trip feel tailored to every customer. At CES 2023, Delta also unveiled Delta Sync: the airline’s vision for personalized experiences across the travel journey unlocked by SkyMiles membership. Built on the foundation of fast, free Wi-Fi, Delta Sync reaffirms the airline’s commitment to putting customers at the center of their travel and paves the way for more meaningful human connections across their journey.

Delta’s new free Wi-Fi rollout is gaining momentum as Delta SkyMiles Members® on most domestic mainline routes can now enjoy fast, free Wi-Fi presented by T-Mobile and unlock curated experiences through Delta Sync exclusives.

Delta Sync currently encompasses two industry-leading entertainment products that have been rolling out as part of the Wi-Fi experience onboard: Delta Sync Wi-Fi on personal devices and Delta Sync seatback on the airline’s beloved seatback screens.

When connecting to Delta Sync Wi-Fi on their personal devices, SkyMiles members get immediate access to exclusive content and offers from hand-picked brands like Paramount+, Walmart+ and others. And with Delta Sync seatback, members can log in to a seatback screen that is personalized to them with new smart TV features and live on-screen notifications about gate changes, bag tracking and more. This integration brings the at-home and in-flight experiences closer together helps ensure customers are always in-sync with their trip.
